Ms. Kiran Bedi is the first woman in India to join the officer ranks of the Indian Police Service
(IPS), social activist and tennis player. She was the 24th Lieutenant Governor of Puducherry and
the first Indian female to become an officer in the Indian Police Service. She started her service
in 1972. She served the society as an IPS Officer for 35 years before taking voluntary retirement
in 2007 as Director General, Bureau of Police Research and Development. She has previously
written many inspirational books like Empowering Women…As I See, Creating Leadership and
more. Her recently released book called “Fearless Governance”, revolves around the topic
“Leadership Management”. The session today will impart valuable insights on this theme and
the lessons that we can inculcate from it.
